How To Order
Zest supplies over 1750 items for our customers and this number might seem bewildering for the first-time customer, but fear not, we have you covered.
We’ve recently teamed up with Fresho to offer new online ordering, so that you can place your order without picking up the phone.
Since the inception of Zest under the original name of Gummers – over 50 years ago, phone ordering has always played a part, but like many traditions, some make way or are used in addition to, newer, quicker methods.
As Zest has modernised over the past decade we continue to look to embrace new technologies and that extends to the capabilities of our website, online ordering and the benefits it can offer you.
How can I place my order
You have 2 options for ordering produce from Zest – phone or online via the Fresho website. When you place an order over the phone this will either be done by speaking directly to a Zest staff member or by leaving an answerphone message, that we will record and playback later.
If you wish to place an order over the phone, simply call us on 01332 83 42 42 and tell one of our staff what you would like. If you call before 7am in the morning or after 4pm in the afternoon, you will hear recorded business information and you can place your order when the message ends.
Between 7am and 4pm you will be presented with 3 options;
1. Speak to accounts
2. Speak to Sales
3. Place an order, which will connect you to the answerphone system.
If you would prefer to place your order online, simply use the green My Account button at the top of Zest website page and this will take you to your account on the Fresho website.
Once you’ve signed up with fresho this button will take you straight into your account, although obviously you could save this as a favourite on your laptop, tablet or mobile to save time in future.
When you’re into your account the first thing to do is select Zest Food Service, which takes you to the main screen. On this screen will be your account details in the top right, with your order choices along the top left bar (this will change on different devices, with everything being centralised on mobile).
Depending on your type of account you may have additional options in the menus.
The small shopping trolley icon will display Buy, Sell and Data. You will be able to use Buy and Data, unless you request an account that can sell as well.
On the left side bar you will see Market, Buying List, Orders, Invoices and Payment Methods. Buying list will not be active on most accounts. For the purposes of ordering you would select Market.
You can switch between the tabs of All Products and Favourites (if you have any saved – toggle the star next to an item to add or remove it from this list).
All of the products are displayed in the centre where you can choose the amount you wish to buy.
You can filter these into categories or search in the box by name – so you have many options all designed to find an item quickly.
Now you have the list of items, you can scroll through the descriptions and choose the quantity, whether that be singular, bulk or by weight, expressed in Fresho as each, Kg and Box. Use the plus and minus circles to make your selection and you will see live prices as you do this.
As items are added, your Check Out trolley will update and show the total price. On a desktop you will also see detailed items and prices, the Delivery or Pickup option and delivery date, which you can set to be further in the future, should you wish. On a mobile device you will only see check out and need to select this to see the desktop options on the next screen.
**Certain bread and cheese items have longer lead times of up to 4 days. This will show on the item itself, but not the basket, so be aware that although the majority of a delivery will be for the next day, (as long as you order before the cut-off time), other items may go on back-order for later delivery.**
Once you have everything you need, simply select Check Out and confirm the details. The mobile version takes you through an extra page of confirmation.
